At Vista Center, our services have a whole person approach. We are grounded in two essential dimensions of vision rehabilitation, both equally vital in helping individuals rebuild a life they love after vision loss.
The first essential dimension of our services is Independent Living Skills, where clients work one-on-one with instructors to relearn the everyday abilities that most people rely on without a second thought.
When someone loses their vision, even the simplest tasks can suddenly become overwhelming or unsafe.
That’s why our trained instructors meet clients where they are—both physically and emotionally—to teach practical, personalized skills for daily life. Clients learn how to move safely through their homes and neighborhoods, cook meals, organize medications, manage technology, and communicate with the world around them.
These are not just tasks—they are the foundations of freedom.
The second essential dimension of our work is Life Enrichment Services, which focus on restoring not just function, but joy and connection.
When someone loses their vision, it is not only their sight that changes—it’s their social world, their sense of identity, and often, their place in the community.
Everyday joys many of us take for granted—walking with friends, participating in a favorite hobby, attending a fitness class, or simply being part of a group—can feel out of reach. Vision loss can bring with it a deep sense of isolation and disconnection.
That’s why Vista Center’s local teams offer services designed to rebuild confidence, foster belonging, and create meaningful opportunities for expression and engagement. Whether it’s through yoga, adaptive gardening, peer support groups, or a creative workshop, these moments help clients reclaim their agency, connect with others who understand, and rediscover reasons to celebrate life.

At Vista Center we believe that surviving is not enough.
Every person deserves the chance to thrive—safely, joyfully, and with the confidence that vision loss does not mean the end of living fully. When individuals are equipped with the skills to care for themselves and the opportunities to reconnect with others, they are no longer defined by their limitations—they are empowered by their potential.

For Schools and Families
School Services
In person and virtual Vision Services meet the educational needs of students who are blind or have low vision throughout California. Partnering with school districts and parents for over 20 years, we specialize in an all-inclusive vision approach which includes Vision Services (TVIs), Orientation & Mobility, and Braille Transcription.
Youth Services
We go above and beyond academics by building student confidence, resourcefulness, and independence. Youth Services focuses on students’ successful integration into society and prepares students to live in a world designed for sighted individuals.
