July 2 - "What's Cookin' Club Conference Call," hosted by Holli Clark.  9:30 -10:30 a.m.  Conference call phone number: 641-715-0700.  Access code is 565322. Whether you're a seasoned chef, beginning cook, or just coming back to the kitchen after vision loss, please join us as we share kitchen tips, recipes and laughter!

July 3 - Spanish Support Group led by Ana Bedingfeld, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

July 4 -  Vista Center will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

July 9 - "Get an Earful" Book Club.  10:30 a.m. We will be discussing "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doeer.

July 9 - What's Cooking Potluck event! 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. Hawaiian theme.  Bring your favorite dish and cooking story or tip to share. RSVP to Holli Clark or call 831-458-9766.

July 10 - Peer Support Group led by Beverly Crook, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

July 11 - Tactile Art class led by local artist Silvia Cruit. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  $5/person.  Snacks included.  Art pieces from the class may be chosen for an exhibition at a large technology company in their Santa Cruz office. Art themes will be breaking down barriers, opening doors to opportunity, coming out of the darkness, and curiosity/connection. RSVP to Vista Center at 831-458-9766.

July 11 - Technology Lab day.  At these 1-hour sessions, you can work on a variety of devices with our tech volunteers and specialists on a one to one basis.  Just let us know when you make your appointment what you are interested in exploring and we will do our best to help you. Email Stacie Grijalva or call Vista Center to register.

July 23 to July 27 - Vision for Our Youth Tomorrow Program! A free program for middle and high school students to prepare them for career and higher education through technology.  Generously funded by Monterey Peninsula Foundation.

July 24 - Peer Support Group led by Beverly Crook, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Vista Center Family BBQ hosted by the Cruit Family. Open for all Vista Center Santa Cruz clients, staff and their families.  Saturday, August 4 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Brommer Park, 1451 30th Ave., Santa Cruz. Bring a dish to share!   Details and directions will be listed in August's newsletter.
