Youth Summer Tech Camp!
We are thrilled to invite you to our Summer Tech Camp designed specifically for blind and low-vision youth. This summer, we’re embarking on an unforgettable journey, filled with learning, empowerment, and adventure.
Our goal is not just providing technology – we’re building a community of innovators, creators, and change-makers. Here’s what’s in store for our campers:
📱 Tech Empowerment: Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, each participant will receive their very own iPad and Echo Dot. But it’s not just about the devices – it’s about the possibilities they unlock. From navigating the digital landscape to unleashing creativity, our campers will discover the power of technology firsthand.
🌐 Accessible Learning: Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re offering in-depth training on accessibility tools and apps, empowering campers to navigate the digital world with confidence and independence. Whether it’s screen readers, magnification tools, or voice commands, we’ll provide the tools and training needed to thrive in today’s tech-driven society.
🏢 Real-World Experience: Ever wondered what a “day in the life” of a tech professional is like? Wonder no more! We’re thrilled to announce that campers will have the opportunity to visit a local tech company and experience firsthand what it’s like to work in the industry. From innovative workspaces to cutting-edge projects, it’s an experience they won’t soon forget.
👩💻 Inspiring Presentations: We believe in the power of role models. That’s why we’re bringing in a special guest presenter to share their journey and insights. Get ready to be inspired as we hear from a trailblazer in accessible coding for the blind who will share their company’s progress and the importance of making technology inclusive for all!
🌈 Fun and Friendship: Of course, it’s not all about work – there will be plenty of time for fun and friendship! Where every moment is an opportunity for laughter, learning, and connection.
