Japantown Walking Tour
Did you know that San Jose’s Japantown is one of only three surviving Japantowns in the United States? Join us for an expert-guided walking tour of the historic sites from the Issei Memorial Building, a former Japanese hospital, to the Buddhist Church, parts of which served as a temporary shelter for Japanese Americans after they were released from the internment camps at the end of WWII. You will learn about the history of the Japanese people who lived in San Jose before and during WWII. We end the day with a social picnic lunch.
