About Vista

With the belief that vision loss is no longer a barrier to independence, Vista Center empowers those who are blind or visually impaired to embrace life to the fullest through evaluation, counseling, education and training. We serve over 3,700 people aged 3-107 a year, many of whom are your friends and neighbors.

  • Vista builds community and combats isolation. Our services level the playing field, giving people with vision loss a chance to live rich, rewarding and independent lives. Like taking a walk in the woods with others – getting out of your house – expands your physical and emotional environments.
  • We build self-sufficiency. Imagine interviewing for a job when you can’t see non-verbal clues. Or losing your sight halfway through your career. Vista gives and restores the skills you need to address obstacles like these – and flourish!
  • We help people advocate for themselves. The most-feared disability is losing your sight. And it’s not easy to ask for help, which can be hard to find because so few  people deal with vision loss. Vista fills that gap. We take a holistic approach, meeting clients where they are to define what they can do (rather than what they cannot). Our team of experts create a personalized plan to maximize remaining vision.
